Hands On Process
The team coaching process is a practical ‘hands-on’ way of raising the performance of the team, over time, through cycles of reflection, learning and action. Experienced team coaches create the conditions for the team to engage in highly effective dialogue which enables new awareness, sense making and more effective ways of working.
Systemwide Support
The team coaching process involves engaging with the team as they are, in the real world, with real world challenges. It considers the wider system the team is operating in and the process required to improve the conditions, dialogue and relationships between the team and its stakeholders. It often takes place in the presence of a pair of coaches, however over time the team can also build the capacity to coach itself.
Team Coaching Lifecycle
The improvement process begins with the first engagement and usually ends for Smurfit Team Coaches when the team has achieved a significant improvement in effectiveness and developed the capacity to continue to coach themselves.
Traditionally Team Coaching occurs with all the Team and Team Coaches physically together in the same room, however due to Covid-19 we have developed the capability to move the process online using various software applications to support the coaching.
